Republicans Respond to Misleading White House Statements on National Security
Washington (February 9) -
Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and House Intelligence Committee top Republican Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) issued the following joint statement in response to an op-ed published in USA Today that misleads the American people on key intelligence issues and accuses critics of the Administration of helping al Qaeda:
"Asking hard questions about the White House’s lack of an overarching plan to confront and defeat the terrorist threat is a core responsibility of elected leaders in Congress. We have consistently raised concerns about the Administration’s handling of key intelligence issues over the last year, and those concerns came to a head with its handling of the Christmas Day terrorist attack in Detroit.
